Coming to you from Hermosa Beach California is Dual Eyed Mic. Recently formed in February 2004, Dual Eyed Mic has been accumulating a large fan base in the South Bay in a short time. And has had the great opportunity to open for bands such as Warsaw Poland Bros., Dreadstarr and the Fred Wilson Project. Dual Eyed Mic always seems to pack a venue and those who had never heard before are glad they did!
The six members came from various bands in which only one style of music was ever played. Feeling restricted and since all four had a wide range of musical interests including ska, punk, alternative, hip hop, funk and on and on they started playing together for fun incorporating their various musical tastes. Before long they were playing their first of many gigs and the response was overwhelming, it seemed as if everyone could relate to thier music and appreciation spanned all age groups!
Dual Eyed Mic has an infectious sound that ranges from their own style of ska and reggae with horns, to surf rock, old school punk covers and even some upbeat Hawaiian tunes complete with electric ukulele and that great surf sound on the guitar! With the recording of their first CD Dual Eyed Mic looks forward to having fun playing more venues and getting more people caught up in their different kind of music.
